2. Flap of skin and subcutaneous tissue (with veins extending proximally and distally) removed from normal finger, using flat rubber template as guide.

2. Poke hole out end of finger.

Undersurface of flap shows veins to be anastomosed. Veins normally extend beyond end of flap.
3. Sew flap back on with curved needle.
