Viewing east along 23rd Street, between Indiana and Prairie Avenue, Platt Luggage Building in lower left hand corner. This image was shot in the late 1990’s.

*The Platt Building stood at 2301 S. Prairie. It has been since been demolished due to the perpetual, Godzilla-like McCormick Place expansion. The façade, however, was saved and relocated to Cermak and King Drive.

*This grassy, wooded lot in the foreground was home to a number of hobo campers. This community campground was eliminated in 2000 when the site was leveled.
