MOVEMENT

Driving driving driving. The best thing is to just spontaneously go. Whether or not you can actually afford it or take the time or whatever. Instant gratification like.

Of course this doesn't always work like the time my girlfriend and I decided to hitchhike from Vancouver to San Francisco. It took us all day to get as far as Tacoma. (which I have a huge grudge against from another roadtrip) It was cold, weird men kept stopping and asking us to go to parties, and then we saw a fatal car accident that looked like it was on purpose. Dead on into the median. Full acceleration. By this time it was about 3am so we went and found a shitty bridge to sleep under. We woke up really early cuz it was raining. We walked back to the entrance ramp and started again. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Finally, soaked to the skin, we crossed the road and stood at the ramp going north. A woman stopped literally one minute later and gave us a ride all the way back to Canada. I called my friends in SF and said 'another time' and they told me all about the party they had had the night before, in our honor, thinking we would be walking in their door at any minute. They said it was really fun, too bad we had missed it.
