Oh how nice to finally meet the corn cart ensemble. It's nice to experience the various parts and read the journal. Sydney and Phil told me about it and their time with it when I was meeting up with Phil on our way out to Angelic Org USA to work on the barns. (I had been under the impression from Mark Shipley that it was time to straw bale)

We are never just one thing corn is the plant, ear, tassels, cob, stalk, roots, pollen. All of that and the soil, the bugs, the water, sun, rocks and here a shopping cart, plastic liner, radio, fruit, raincoat, cup, thermos and now the journey that is here.

Do we think about the journeys of the little plants and food that make their ways into our liver?

Out at Angelics there are fields of anonymous regimented crops; corn, soybeans - it was a struggle to see the beauty of the massive mono culture, hot sunny weather baked us. The wind whipped us and whisked the heat away, the wind changed directions for a time allowing the soy beans to show off in undulating bows and curtsies. Will anyone know of their antics as they are taken into the human bodies they are destined (doomed to) for?

We ate watermelons, yellow insides so sweet! And white sweet corn from AO so yummy and meaty tomatoes of various colors, oh golly.

Jessica showed us a custom from South China of rubbing the eaten down watermelon rinds in your face and neck to refresh yourself. Oh yes. The horses got the uneaten corn but turned their noses up at the watermelon.

The corn at the castle is an old variety also; maybe they'll mingle!

Going to head off to the St Jerome's festival with the corn cart and see what happens, with pleasure in the struggle.

At the gallery now - never made it to the festival! Sat near and hung out with the corn. Penny called Nettles because of an infestation of cucumber beetles. 1 tsp soap in a spray bottle of water twice a twice daily regimen for a couple days and things were fine.

Pushing the corn cart over here was a treat. We organized a grill party at the castle for 5 pm - so faerie time. The parade sans costumes and musical instruments. Well we turned the radio first to jazz then the Mexican station then some majestic pageantry as we entered the space, along the way people noticed the pairs of us traipsing through the street.
