hey fries.
still in hotan, although can't remember where we were last time i wrote.
we've been here a few days, do shows at nearby villages then sleep back in
town.
today got to drive this guys 4-wheel drive truck around on dirt roads. fun.
Went to a spring fed pool along this giant river famous for all the jade
found on its banks. The pool water was a strange clear green and the sand
was marbled with deep purple. Everyone inisited I should drink some but as
i have dysentary at the moment, I declined. I've definitely never spent
more time shooting liquid out of my ass as in china.
Hotan is way in the middle of nowhere. A poplar stand oasis in the sun and
sand and gravel. We're finishing up the circus tour in about 5 days and
will drive north on the giant cross desert highway back to urumqi. i hear
it's 20 hours of nothing but sand dunes.
